In Feb.1962 the Palace Corporation produced a fold-up type trailer. It was 10' wide for travel, but could be folded out to double the width. The home boasted two large bedrooms and extra storage space.
Check out the diagrams to see how the mobile home expanded in a time frame of eight hours. Quite unique! But didn't seem very popular, because within a year's time production stopped. it was cheaper to place two
units side by side (the doublewide) then to manufacture expanding trailers. Also, compare this home with the trailers that Palace advertised in 1944!
