The 1953 Travelites with their top-of-the-line model with a so-called sunken living room. This was actually just the kitchen raised up to accomodate the wheelwells. Early trailers all had
wheelwells and the floor plans had to be designed around them. The first trailers with raised axels (no wheelwells) started to appear at the end of 1955 and gradually took over. This allowed/gave manufacturers more
freedom in designing the interiors.
