If you’re getting started in buying a modular or mobile home, follow the 3 easy steps below to get off to a solid start!
The First Step. We suggest you verify how much money can be lent to you under banking guidelines, or find out how much money banks would be willing to lend to you. In my past experience that seems to be the most important part: why waste time looking at $60,000 homes if you can only afford a $30,000 home?
Start with whatever it takes to own a home, even if it is a single wide home on a piece of property, and consider upgrading a few years down the road to a large double wide or even a modular home.
If you parents live in a large home chances are they didn’t start out in that home . They started with a small home, then sold it, purchased a larger home, lived in it a couple of years, sold it, and purchased an even larger home!
That is typically how, on the average, people eventually own a large beautiful home but, if you have to start small you have to start small. The important part is to start. Land and home prices go up every year making your investment more valuable!
The Second Step. We suggest you begin actively searching for new or used mobile homes in your local area. Look in newspapers, call local mobile home dealers.
Tell the salesman exactly what you are looking for and in what price range; make sure you speak to each salesmen in that dealership: you are looking for a certain price range home, you want every available person at that dealership looking for you! And do it in your own home by phone.
The Third Step. We suggest our Land/Home Development guide, containing a step by step easy to read format! Remember to rely on your county government in the county the home is being set, they are in place to assist you in the set up of your home.
